What this covers

Green Room is a concert journal for keeping the shows you attended, your notes and ratings, and the artists and venues you have experienced. This policy covers the iPhone app, the separate browser journal and this public website. Available account and sharing features can differ between the apps.

Green Room is intended for people in the United States who are at least 18 years old. It is not intended for children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through Green Room, contact us using the privacy contact below so we can review it.

This website presents product information and app previews. It does not sign you into Green Room or read your journal. Opening the browser journal or an App Store link takes you to a separate service.

Your journal and account

Your journal can include the concerts you enter, dates, notes, ratings, bookmarks and profile details. The iPhone app requires an account and keeps an account cache on your device. The browser journal can store a separate local journal in that browser’s storage. Catalog records and photographs are fetched from online services; keeping a browser journal local does not mean every app request stays on your device.

When you sign in, Green Room uses your sign-in information and an account identifier to authenticate you and keep your account’s data separate. Account features store your journal, profile and sharing preferences in the account service and keep an account cache on your device. The iPhone app also saves pending journal changes locally so they can be sent when a connection is available. Moving an existing local journal into an account is an explicit import action for a supported existing iPhone journal. The browser journal has a different format and is not automatically imported into an account.

Browser account sign-in uses session cookies to keep you signed in and handle account requests. A browser-local journal uses that browser’s local storage. These belong to the browser app; this marketing website does not access them.

Optional profile information can include your display name, chosen username, home city and photograph. Optional social features also process follow relationships, requests, concert invitations and the photos or reviews you choose to share.

Sharing and discovery

Account profiles and journals start private. A concert’s audience controls who can view its review and attached photos. You can keep a night private, share with approved followers or choose a wider audience where your profile settings allow it. Adding a friend to a concert requires their approval before their name appears; it does not create attendance in their journal.

You can turn off “Allow others to tag me” in Privacy & discovery to block new concert tags, and remove your own approved tags. Approved tags can appear on your timeline and in followers’ Activity when the original concert’s audience permits it. They do not add that concert to your attendance totals.

Name and username search is a separate setting. New accounts have friend search enabled, but need a chosen username before appearing in results. Results show limited identity information; finding someone does not unlock their private journal. You can turn off “Let people find me” in Profile settings. Existing accounts keep their saved choice.

An account profile photo is shared only when you explicitly publish it. It can be seen by people allowed to view your profile, recipients of your follow requests and accepted connections. This portrait access does not grant access to a private journal. A photo kept only on your device is not automatically published.

Artist and venue contributions are different from journal sharing. Completing a catalog contribution publishes its artist or venue information and uploaded photograph in the shared catalog. A venue contribution also publishes its location details. Do not put private journal material into a public catalog contribution. Catalog uploads retain the original photograph, including embedded metadata, which may contain location or device information. Remove metadata you do not want to share before uploading. Catalog reports, correction notes and review evidence are also processed to maintain the catalog; reports are visible to their author and the people maintaining it.

A print or export you send through another app is a copy you choose to share. Changing an audience later cannot retrieve copies someone has already saved or shared elsewhere.

Optional permissions

Nearby concerts

You can choose an approximate location, enter a city or skip nearby discovery. Using your location requests iPhone permission; entering a city does not. The current app rounds its search coordinates and sends a search center, distance and any search terms to the concert service. That service uses Ticketmaster to retrieve nearby listings. Your attended or chosen artists can help order results, using public artist information rather than your journal notes or ratings. Green Room does not use background location for this feature.

Contacts

Finding friends from contacts requires an explicit action and device permission. The app transforms allowed contact email addresses into matching identifiers on your device and sends those identifiers to the account service. Contact names, phone numbers and raw email addresses from your address book are not uploaded by this feature. The current matching implementation does not retain the submitted contact identifiers.

These hashed identifiers are used to recognize email matches; they are not anonymous data. Results require the other person to enable contact discovery separately and allow ordinary friend discovery. Checking contacts does not send requests or follow anyone automatically.

Notifications and photographs

Push notifications are optional. If enabled, the service processes an Apple push token, installation identifier, app version and your alert preferences to deliver the alerts you choose, including TestFlight update alerts for TestFlight installations. You can change notification categories in the app and system permission in iPhone Settings. The in-app request inbox works without push permission. Photographs are processed when you select or upload them for a profile, concert or catalog contribution; their audience depends on that feature.

Services that help Green Room run

The current account architecture uses Supabase for authentication, account records and photo storage. Apple provides optional sign-in, city lookup, device permissions and push delivery. Nearby concert discovery uses Ticketmaster through Green Room’s concert service. Requests to these services carry the information needed for the feature, such as authentication details or the chosen concert search location.

External ticket pages, sign-in providers and apps you use to share a print have their own privacy practices.

This website and support

Green Room has an optional PostHog integration for usage analytics, including page visits, sign-in and setup progress, app actions, download and browser-app link clicks, and limited operational failure reports. Browser analytics use a random tab-scoped identifier in session storage to connect steps across page reloads and sign-in redirects, and honor Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals. The iPhone app uses a random installation identifier stored on the device. Green Room does not supply your account ID, email address or name to PostHog. The integration does not use analytics cookies, session replay, automatic click tracking, or journal and form content.

Analytics requests reach PostHog’s servers, which receive an IP address as part of network delivery; the integration disables location enrichment. Website hosting can also process technical request information, such as IP addresses and browser details, to deliver pages and operate the service.

If you contact support, the message and any information you choose to include are used to understand and respond to your request. Include only what is needed. Do not send passwords, sign-in codes or your entire journal unless a specific recovery request calls for it.

Storage, security and retention

Local journals, account caches, unfinished logs and recovery backups can remain on your device. Exported files are separate copies under your control. Signing out is not the same as deleting an account or erasing its stored records, and a journal export is not an export of every account record.

The current apps separate account workspaces, protect sign-in credentials and check access before serving private photos. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Account records remain until you remove them or delete your account. Account deletion removes private account records and uploaded private photos through retryable cleanup. Published catalog contributions, required photo credits and source provenance can remain without your profile. Exported copies and separate local journals remain under your control. Service logs, support messages and provider backups follow their own retention; removal does not guarantee an immediate purge of every stored copy.

Your choices

You can edit your entries, review sharing audiences, change profile and friend-discovery settings, and export your journal through the app’s settings. You can keep a separate local journal in the browser app, and change location, contacts and notification permissions in iPhone Settings. Contact discovery and notification categories also have their own in-app choices.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. For a privacy request, use the contact below. Signing out does not delete your account. The app provides Delete account in Profile → Settings → Account, and the browser app provides it in Account. Confirm the account and review the retained copies before deleting.
